One suggestion, if you are unhappy:
Your POSITION is GRASS and MY VOTE is a LAWN MOWER.
You need to LET them KNOW what you think, how you feel and if you have a suggestion for IMPROVEMENT, GIVE it. You can’t just SIT and complain to each other. Write to your GOVENOR as well. AND remember, when election time comes up, if you aren’t happy with the JUSTICE system, VOTE NO for your JUDGES, as well.
Open letter to Congress.
Dear: Senator – Representative
I urge you before you vote on any form of national healthcare (or any bill for that matter) please ask the question, “is the bill on which I’m about to vote” constitutional? If you cannot point to one of the enumerated powers of article 1 section 8 of the constitution and find where national or universal healthcare is specifically addressed you must answer “no” and vote against ANY bill that violates the enumerated powers of the Federal Government. According to the 10th amendment if an issue is not specifically addressed in the enumerated powers then it must be an issue for the individual states to address if they so choose.
Please do not allow your congressional colleagues to persuade you to torture constitutional wording in order to vote for anything not mentioned specifically in the enumerated powers. Attempts to torture the “commerce” or the “general welfare” clauses are examples frequently used but which violate the intents of our founding fathers.
James Madison, who wrote those words said, “With respect to the two words “general welfare,” I have always regarded them as qualified by the detail of powers connected with them. To take them in a literal and unlimited sense would be a metamorphosis of the Constitution into a character which there is a host of proofs not contemplated by its creators.”
Thomas Jefferson backed up Madison by declaring, “Congress has not unlimited powers to provide for the general welfare, but only those specifically enumerated.”
TEA Party Patriots are watching all of our congressional delegates to see if they will put upholding our constitution above party politics and vote buying schemes or will they continue to propel us down the slippery slope to socialism and tyranny. We marched on Washington with the message “enough is enough” and we meant it. In the next election we will target those who have ignored our constitution and we will do our best to replace them regardless of party affiliation. Ignore us at your peril.
Respectfully yours for liberty,
A TEA Party Patriot
